Gertrude Kozlowski (nee Lipecki), 101 years old, of Palatine, formerly of Elk Grove Village, IL, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 3, 2020 at Little Sisters of the Poor – St. Joseph’s Home for the Elderly surrounded by family, friends and the Sisters of St. Joseph’s. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Friday, February 7, 2020 at St. Joseph’s Home, 80 West Northwest Hwy., Palatine. A Funeral Mass will be said at St. Joseph’s Home at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 8, 2020. The Interment will follow at St. Adalbert Catholic Cemetery, Niles.

Gertrude was born on November 3, 1918 to John and Cecelia Lipecki and grew up in Chicago, graduating from St. Hyacinth’s Catholic School. She was a devoted wife, mother, homemaker and cherished baby sitter. She took pleasure in summer and winter vacations with family, and was a lifelong Cubs fan. In her senior years she enjoyed volunteering at the Shelia Ray Senior Center. Gertrude spent the last 3 years happily and joyfully with the Little Sisters of the Poor at the St. Joseph’s Home.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene J. Kozlowski, and her sons, Robert J. Kozlowski and Eugene J. Kozlowski.

Taking great comfort in her memory are, her children, David (Diane Miller), Gloria (Dick) Marcott, Suellyn (George) Carlson, Timothy (Linda Palmer); grandchildren, Joe Marcott, Becca Marcott, Bethany Carlson (Jay White), Alicia (Matt) Nelson, Adam, Matthew (Lindsay), Jennifer (Leo) Kingbird, and Eugene (Melissa); great-grandchildren, Anna, CJ, Jessica, Jillian, Abigail, Leslie, Heather, Kein, Naomi, Patrick, Tessa; and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Little Sisters of the Poor – St. Joseph’s Home for the Elderly.
