Funeral Services and Inurnment for Jack Martin Schuett, 70, of Woodridge, IL, will be held Monday, March 14, 2022 at 11:30 a.m. at Ridgewood Cemetery, 9900 N. Milwaukee Avenue, Des Plaines.
On the evening of Friday March 4th 2022, at home with his family gathered close, Jack passed away. It was about two years after his battle with cancer had begun.
Jack was born on August 29, 1951 to Martin and Violet Schuett. He grew up on a farm in Half Day, Illinois with his brother David Schuett (1944-1997) and lost his own parents at a young age. From 1971-1973, he served in the armed forces and was stationed in Berlin. In 1974, he began a 30-year career as a firefighter, becoming Assistant Fire Chief for the Linconshire-Riverwoods Fire Department.
Jack was sentimental, kind, and quiet. He had a good heart and would help anyone in need. The Lord bestowed him with the skills to build and repair while Menards supplied him with every tool known to humankind. He also enjoyed bargains, reselling antiques and collectables and the great north woods of Wisconsin. His grandchildren will miss Papa; they were his last and greatest joy.
Jack was the loving husband of Diana Schuett for 34 years; dear father of Andrew (Allison), Samantha (Daniel) Perzyna, Michael (Krista) Kruger; and fond grandfather of Carson, Abigail, Harvey, Leo, and Gemma.

I’m so sorry Diana. Thoughts and prayers are sent to you. May you find peace in the coming days.
Condolences to Jacks family. He was fun to be around always smiling and laughing. I was volunteer fireman with him, also wish I knew that he was stationed in Germany, I was in the Air Force over there at the same time, we could have visited.
Knew Jack from childhood. Used to visit him and Dave at their farm and farm stand on Milwaukee avenue. He was always mild mannered and easy to get along with. My best to Di and the kids
Jack had a devilish sense of humor but a kind heart and his laughter would always bring a smile to your face. He will be greatly missed. I’m sorry for your loss Diana.
Our deepest condolences to your family. Jack was the sweetest man. Will always cherish the memories being neighbors & his sweet personality 💕

Jack was kind, quiet, funny and loved hearing him laugh. As a small kid, it was a joy to go to the firehouse with my Dad on Saturdays and just run around and see all the guys. Jack was a favorite and he will be missed….
Rest in Peace and Smile down upon your family and loved ones!
We are so sorry for your loss. When i think of Jack, I see him on that big outside deck in Mercer either cooking for everyone or sitting in a chair holding one of his dogs. He was always kind and considerate. He will be missed.
