A private Graveside Service for Lucie Fuessel (nee Oszczypok), 90, of Palatine, will be held at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Palatine. Her service will be combined with her late husband, Ludwig Fuessel. They would have been married 70 years.
Lucie was born January 6, 1933, in Romania, and spent her young adult life in Saltzgitter, Germany. She moved to the United States in 1959 with her husband and two children. She resided in Chicago, Skokie and Vernon Hills, Illinois before retiring with Ludwig in Venice, Florida. They were both blessed to spend 23 years together in retirement. Ludwig passed away in 2016 and Lucie passed on February 22, 2023. They will be laid to rest together.
Lucie was the beloved wife of the late Ludwig Fuessel; loving mother of Werner Fuessel and Martina (Gregory) Sieben; loving grandmother of Sarah, Jennifer, Joe and Eleri; loving great-grandmother of Michael, Liam and Emilie; dear daughter of the late Ludwig and Ida (nee Oberlander) Oszczypok.
Lucie worked for many years as a proof-reader at Rand McNalley in Skokie, IL and then held an administrative position at Walgreen Corporation in Deerfield, IL in the employee stock program department. She loved to cook and enjoyed traveling with family. Ludwig and Lucie enjoyed their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren over the years. That is what they lived for.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or La Rabida Children’s Hospital.
May God welcome His new angel to heaven and provide the family with comfort and peace during this time of grieving. For we know the Lord watches over all of us 🙏🏽
Tina, I am sorry your moms light is gone from your life. Her legacy as caring parent, devoted spouse and wonderful friend continue on through you! May she now rest in peace with her maker, and be united with Ludwig.
Your entire family is in my prayers. My deepest sympathies to all.
Our sincerest condolences for you at this time. Wishing you peace, comfort, courage, and lots of love at this time of sorrow.
Your mom’s smile was beautiful and infectious! She was a wonderful person that was always so welcoming and fun to talk with. Although it’s sad to lose her, she is no longer in pain.
I can totally picture your mom and dad being so HAPPY now that they’re back together again! ❤️
