Visitation for Margot B. Sturn (nee Loth), 85, a long time resident of Hawthorn Woods, will be held from 9:00 am until the time of the Funeral Service at 11:00 am on Monday, May 1, 2023, at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 415 S. Buesching Road, Lake Zurich. The Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Barrington.
She was born July 20, 1937, in Pforzheim, Germany to the late Oskar and Elliese Loth (nee Ade), where she lived until 1968. She then immigrated with her husband and young child to Chicago, eventually moving to Mt. Prospect for 13 years, and then settling in Hawthorn Woods. She passed away on Tuesday, April 25, 2023, surrounded by family.
Margot was a long time Bank Teller/Customer Service Representative with State Bank of Lake Zurich and Cambridge Bank, where she enjoyed working with and helping her customers.
Margot is the loving wife of the late Werner H. Sturn, mother of Ralf, sister of the late Günter and the late Jürgen Loth, aunt of Michael Loth, Ulrich Loth, Dagmar Sauer (nee Loth), Eugen Augenstein and Erika Fojtik (nee Augenstein). She was the great aunt to many, both in the United States and Germany.
Margot loved flowers, gardening, cooking, and taking care of her house, where she was determined to stay until the very end.
The family would like to thank the ICU team at Good Shepherd Hospital for their kindness and compassion during some unusual circumstances.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to American Heart Association.
Margot will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Our deepest condolences to you Ralf and other family members in the loss of your mother, sweet Margot ❤️ May peace find you and your family at this very sad time.
