Mark was the beloved husband of Carol J. (Altergott) Eichaker; loving father of Matthew (Jorie) Eichaker and Scott (Kim) Eichaker; loving grandfather of Colton, Hailey and Hunter Eichaker and Jackson R; dear son of Shirley (Wilde) Eichaker and the late Herbert Eichaker; fond brother of Kurt Eichaker and Dean Eichaker.
Mark was a hard-working man with endless energy, who loved his family, the outdoors, and his community. He touched many people, who would come to know him by his radiating smile, good humor, and kind nature, on his route with UPS during his 30 plus year tenure with UPS and the Union. When he wasn’t in his UPS truck, you could find him volunteering at Deer Grove Forest Preserve. He was passionate about preserving history and the beauty that the woods had to offer for future generations. He passed on his love of nature through family camping and fishing trips to his boys. Mark had a big heart for animals and had many pets throughout the years, most notable would be Dennis, the cat, who would wait at the front door for Mark to come home. Another notable family member was his horse, Sherman Tank, his companion for fulfilling his passion for horseback riding and experiencing the full beauty of the Preserve. Mark had an ear for music, whether it was enjoying the smooth rhythm of the Blues or jamming to Rock N’ Roll, you could even occasionally find him in the mosh pit at a summer concert.
In lieu of flowers, memorials will be appreciated to Friends Of The Forest Preserve.
