The Memorial Visitation for Mr. Albert E. Rose, a resident of Palatine for 57 years, will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2016 from 10:00AM until the time of the Memorial Service, 11:00AM at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Hwy., Palatine. The Interment will be private.
Albert was born on August 9, 1927 in Chicago, IL and grew up in the Des Plaines area and was the son of the late Lillian Rose and passed away on Thursday, January 7, 2016 after an extended illness.
Albert had worked with Rothery Storage and Van for many years and later went on to work for the Nelson – Westerberg Co. where he eventually retired from, having served as Vice President of Operations.
Albert served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and then with the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War.
Albert was a Chicago sports enthusiast and especially enjoyed rooting on the Cubs and the Blackhawks. Living near the Arlington Park Racetrack for many years, Albert and his wife Gladys shared their love of horseracing.
Beloved husband of the late Gladys Rose; loving father of SueAllyn (Carl) Kiewert, John (Sharon) Rose and the late Stephen Rose; cherished grandfather of Lorna and Steven Kiewert and Mitchell and Matthew Rose.
