Visitation for Albert Stanish, 88, of McHenry since 1995, formerly of Elmhurst, will be held Sunday, November 1, 2015 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with a Panikhida, 7:00 p.m., at the Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church, 1449 N. Quentin Road, Palatine. The Funeral will begin Monday, November 2, 2015, 10:00 a.m. also at the Church. An Interment will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, River Grove.
Albert was born January 11, 1927 in Chicago and he passed away peacefully at home, Tuesday, October 27, 2015 in McHenry.
Albert, also known as “the Chief”, was a 67 year member of the Ornamental Iron Workers Union local # 63. He was a WWII U.S. Army veteran and a member of the Elmhurst American Legion Post THB 187. Most of all, he always put other people before himself.
Beloved husband of the late Nina Stanish (nee Gawrusik); loving father of Michael (late Janet) Stanish, Mark (Maggie) Stanish and the late Donna Stanish; loving grandfather of Jeffery (Kay) Stanish, Natalie Stanish, Katie Stanish, Cameron Stanish and Madeleine Stanish; loving great-grandfather of Jeffery Jr. and Joey Stanish; fond brother of Alice (Robert) Sherman and the late Ralph Stanish.
