Andrew D. Wendt

Andrew Davies Wendt, 45, a resident of Palatine and former resident of West Dundee, died at his home among loving family and friends on February 6, 2017.  Andy had bravely battled cancer for nearly two years.  His beautiful soul will be deeply missed.

Andy was born to John “Jack” and Nancy (Davies) Wendt in Elgin, IL on December 30, 1971.  He grew up in West Dundee, attended local schools, graduated from Elgin Academy in 1990 and from Cornell College in 1994.  In 2005 he married Carissa “Carrie” Benedik of Carpentersville.  Andy’s career took him to Liquid Controls in Lake Bluff, where he was an IT administrator.

Andy’s interests included music, movies, computers, anything Star Wars, weight training, time spent at his parents’ lake house in northern Wisconsin, gardening and animals, especially his cats Logan and Selina.

A gathering of remembrance will be held on Friday, February 17, 2017 at Makray Memorial Golf Club in Barrington, with a Memorial Service beginning at 4:00p.m. followed by a celebration of Andy’s life at 5:00p.m.  All who loved him and his family are welcome to attend.  Memorials may be made in Andy’s name to PAWS Chicago, www.pawschicago.org.

Andy is survived by his wife Carissa Wendt of Palatine, his parents Jack and Nancy of West Dundee, and numerous relatives and friends.  He is preceded in death by his brother Christopher, his grandfather Homer Davies, grandmother Lula Swanson, step grandfather Willard Swanson, and grandparents Clarence and Ruth Wendt
