Ann W. Craig

November 24, 1924 — November 16, 2019

Funeral Service and Entombment for Ann W. Craig (nee Woelbeling), 94, of Palatine will be held privately at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Arlington Heights.

Ann was born November 24, 1924 in Chicago and passed away Saturday, November 16, 2019 in Lincolnshire.

Ann was the beloved wife of the late James Craig; loving mother of Linda (Tom) Thunder, Cher (John Olles) Craig and Jim (Jan) Craig; loving grandmother of Charlene (Jake Alley) Thunder, Robert (Lisa) Thunder, Stephen (Megan) Thunder, Robert (Susie) Troglia, Rudy (Yulia) Craig and Desiree Craig; great-grandmother of 14; dear daughter of the late William and Helen (nee Petersen) Woelbeling; fond sister of William.

Ann was born and lived in Chicagoland but spent many years in her mom’s family’s historic home on Church St, built before the Civil War, in Charleston, SC (see picture).

Ann enjoyed reading, sewing, and needle point. In retirement she treasured traveling the U.S. and family vacations before she went back to work for her son-in-law until 90 years old.

Her passions were wildlife, especially loons, her many dogs over the years and her beloved Northwoods Wisconsin. She would spend weeks at a time at her 100 plus year old cabin on the lake in northern Wisconsin watching the loons, eagles, deer, and bears, to name a few.

She will be greatly missed.

In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to the Northwoods Wildlife Center, 8683 S. Blumenstein Road, Minocqua, WI 54548. Please note, Ann Craig Memorial, on all donations or fill out the form provided at: https://northwoodswildlifecenter.org/
