Anna T. Michehl

Visitation for Anna Michehl, 96, will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 415 S. Buesching Rd, Lake Zurich from 9:00 AM until the time of the Prayer Service at 10:30 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be said at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 33 S. Buesching Rd, Lake Zurich at 11:00 AM. A private burial will be held at a later date at Ridgewood Cemetery, Des Plaines.

Anna joined her late husband George on August 19, 2024, after an almost 20-year battle with Parkinson’s disease. She will always be remembered by her children, Janet (late Bruce) Frace, George (Marcia) Michehl, and James (Mary) Michehl; her Grandchildren, Scott (Sarah) Michehl, Jennifer (Matt) Heid, Kevin Michehl, Nicole (Mike) Fritts; and her Great Grandchildren, Tess and Zachary Michehl, and Jack, Evelyn and June Heid.

Family was her greatest joy. No family gathering was ever too small or the resulting chaos ever too great. She was known for her patience, kindness, generosity, sense of humor, and the tremendous pride she had in all of us. She loved every minute of it.

For many years Anna was an election judge and worked with her husband to get out the vote. After George passed, Anna made the decision to move to Carillon North in Grayslake. From there she moved to Azpira Place in Lake Zurich. In both places she had new adventures and made new friends. Her smile and personality would light up a room. She was a regular at weekly Bingo. A devout Catholic, she attended weekly prayer service and rosary. Every Palm Sunday, she brought palm crosses for her fellow service attendees at Azpira Place. Anna loved to travel. She loved visiting new places, especially if there were video poker machines. She loved good music, good food, and a good Brandy Manhattan.

Anna was a good neighbor and friend to everyone she met. She led a life well lived.
