April R. Alexander

Services for April R. Alexander (nee Altenbernd) will be held privately at Randhill Park Cemetery, Arlington Heights, IL.

She passed away peacefully on June 8, 2021. April was born in St. Louis, MO where she met her husband of 68 years, Bob Alexander. April is survived by daughters Sandra (Lames) Jessogne, Micki (Tod) Planert, son Robert (Debbie), grandsons Jason (Jacqui), Chad (Jennifer) & Brett Jessogne, Rusty (Kirsten) & Casey Planert, Brandon & Zach Alexander and granddaughter Natalie Alexander, nieces Debra Stroot (Dennis), Denise Votrian (Craig), nephew Duane Miller, great grandchildren Finnley, Jaxon, Cole, Mason & Afton Jessogne and Zoe Planert.

She was preceded in death by her husband Bob Alexander, her father and mother Rudolph and Melba Altenbernd and her sister Rosalind.

April was employed at Paddock Publications (The Daily Herald) for over 40 years.  She was known for her compassion and generosity.  No one ever went away hungry or thirsty from her house.   Although she had said one place she never wanted to live was the Chicago area, she happily raised her family in Palatine, IL living in the same house for over 50 years.
