Arnold “Russ” M. Rusten of Arlington Heights was born on July 5, 1916 in Chicago to Andrew and Olga (nee Abrahamson) Rusten. He passed away on April 15, 2013.
Mr. Rusten was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin in Madison. A Captain in the Army Air Corp during WWII, he earned his CPA and worked as a comptroller and hotel manager in Chicago. He was an avid bicyclist and enjoyed traveling, animals and music. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren.
Arnold is survived by his spouse of 68 years, Hope (Smith) Rusten and his children John (Beatrice) Rusten and Jill (Barry Fisk) Rusten; his grandchildren, Emily, Robert and Elizabeth Fisk; his siblings Rena (Einar) Anderson, Paul (the late Mary) Rusten and Doris (the late Dwight) Wood, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Muriel (Helmur) Waarvik.
Visitation will be held on Saturday April 20, 2013 from 1:00PM until the time of the Funeral Service at 3:00PM at All Saints Lutheran Church, 630 S. Quentin Road, Palatine.
In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated, in memory of Arnold, for Lutheran Social Services, 1001 E. Touhy Avenue, Suite 50, Des Plaines, IL 60018
