August R. Pagel

Graveside Services for August R. “Gus” Pagel, 97, a resident of Buffalo Grove since 1967 will be held on Thursday, June 5, 2014 at 11:00am at Central Illinois Memorial Park Cemetery in Pontiac, IL.  Visitation will be held from 4:00pm until 8:00pm on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Hwy., Palatine.August was born on March 25, 1917 in Pontiac, IL the son of the late August Carl and Ella (nee Davies) Pagel and passed away peacefully on Sunday evening June 1, 2014.

Prior to retirement August was an art teacher with Des Plaines School District 62 for 33 years.  He was also the one of the founders of the Des Plaines Art Guild.

August was the beloved husband of the late Roberta Pagel; loving father of Pamela (Steven) Wojcik and Lynda (Larry) Matson; dear grandfather of Carrie (Kevin) Dwyer, Jonathan (Tara) Wojcik, Gregory (Kate) Wojcik, Christopher, Jeffrey and James Matson;

Great grandfather of Claire, Katherine and Colin Dwyer and Holly, Meredith and Hunter Wojcik; fond brother of Mary Jane (late Joseph) Cassara; also survived by many nieces and nephews.
