Autumn R. Rettke

Visitation for Autumn Rose Rettke, 21, of Schaumburg, will be held Wednesday, October 16, 2024, from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Highway, Palatine. The Funeral Service will begin Thursday, October 17, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, Palatine. Interment will be private.

Autumn was the beloved child of Kurt and Laura (nee Langer) Rettke; Fond sibling of Amber (Manny) Izaguirre, Kurt, and Karl. Grandchild of the late Barney and Carol Langer and Kurt and the late Veronica Rettke.

Autumn had a great love of tattoos and piercings and their extensive collection of clowns. From digging through thrift stores to estate sales, they had a knack for finding epic vintage items. They found happiness in sewing, music and animals, from hatching and raising chickens, caring for many small animals, and most recently, adopting 4 cats. They took pride in their customized van which they would use to craft and read for hours in local parks and forests. Autumn loved their life in Chicago and their wonderful group of trusted friends with whom they would explore the local live music scene. Described as the family's boldest flower, they will be forever missed by friends and family.

Memorials would be appreciated to mental health services and/or animal shelters.
