Betty J. Reconnu

Visitation for Betty Jane Reconnu, 94, formally of Lake Barrington Shores, will be on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 from 2:30 PM until time of the Funeral Service, 3:30 PM at Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Hwy., Palatine.

Betty was born in Pittsburgh, PA, the daughter of Charles and Minerva (nee Heinrich) Sadler on May 16, 1921.  She passed away Monday, June 1, 2015 in Barrington.

Betty is the wife of the late Albert.  Loving mother of David A., Donald H., and the late Lance C.; beloved grandmother of Beth, Paige, Ryan, Mark and Amy; dear great-grandmother of ten; dear niece, Paula Jauch.

In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Aline Richards.

Her interests included golf, entertaining, travel, needlepoint, painting and her grandchildren.

Betty was a women of strong faith blessed with God’s gift of wisdom and hospitality.  She had the knack of relating humorous stories and events, often self-directed, nurturing family and others, and serving special dishes.  She had a passion for the game of golf and was club champion numerous times.  She was very competitive; her sports hero was Babe Zaharias.  Betty knew how to make every shot and was especially accurate on her approach.
