Bonnie M. Bennett

Visitation for Bonnie M. Bennett, 74, of Palatine, will be held on Wednesday, January 31, 2018, from 3:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Highway, Palatine.

She will lie in state Thursday, February 1, 2018 from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass, 10:30 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 2515 Palatine Road, Inverness, IL 60067.  An Entombment will follow in St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Palatine.

Bonnie was born February 3, 1943 in Baltimore, Maryland, and passed away January 28, 2018, peacefully, surrounded by her family in Arlington Heights, Illinois.

Beloved wife of Charles R. Bennett; loving mother of Greg (Evelyn), Steven (Lisa), Vann and Doug (Heather); loving grandmother of Jessica, Michael, Jared, Josh, Aidan, Patrick, Colin and Fiona; loving great-grandmother of Carter and Wesley; dear daughter of the late Alfred and Camille; sister to Patricia Marden and Iris Shriner(Charles) ; brother to Rick Mahoney.

Bonnie moved to Palatine in January 1978.  In the beginning, she stayed at home to raise her four boys.  Then in 1986, she began her career as the Administrative Assistant to the Executive Director of the Palatine Park District and the Secretary to the Palatine Park District Board of Commissioners.  This lasted for the next 24 years.  After retirement in 2010, Bonnie and Charles began their passion of traveling; visiting family and friends; and watching their grandchildren participate in various sports and activities.
