Carol B. Langer

Visitation for Carol Bernice Langer (nee Thomas), will be held Saturday, September 22, 2018, from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Highway, Palatine.  Funeral Services will begin at 10:00 a.m. Sunday, September 23, 2018 at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, Palatine.  The Interment will be private.

Carol passed away peacefully on the morning of September 18, 2018, surrounded by her family.  Born October 26, 1930 in Palatine, the daughter of Tommy and Nettie Thomas, she married Bernhardt “Barney” Langer on March 17, 1951.

She was the beloved wife of the late Bernhardt “Barney” Langer; loving mother of Thomas (DeDe) Langer, Terry (Madeleine) Langer, Mark (Daniele) Langer and Laura (Kurt) Rettke and the late Peter Langer; loving grandmother of Eric (Brandie), Jon, Janice (Joe), Greg (Ashley), Dean, Joshua, Adam (Erin), Jacqui, Luke, Amber, Kurt, Karl, and Autumn; loving great-grandmother of Abigail, Emma, Carter, Andrea, Joey, Andrew, Nolan and Wesley; mother-in-law of Nicolette Koumoutsos; fond sister of Gene (Jo) Thomas, Mary Jane (late Roy) Cagney and the late Joanne Eisenberg; dear aunt of many nieces and nephews.

Carol was a loving and devoted wife and mother.  She enjoyed life to the fullest and never had a bad thing to say about anyone.  She was a beautiful example of a strong and devoted woman.  A vision impairment could not diminish her love of reading and she eagerly “read” hundreds of books supplied on record and tape by the Library of Congress service for the visually handicapped.

Carol was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Palatine.
