Carol J. Herhold

A Memorial Gathering for Carol J. Herhold, 70, of Phillips, Wisconsin, will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2015 from 1:00PM until 3:00PM with a brief Service at 2:00PM at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Hwy., Palatine, IL

She was born on February 24, 1945, in Marshfield, WI, the daughter of Herbert and Rose (Schuerman) Wipfli and died on Friday, July 31, at the Aspirus Wausau Hospital Palliative Care Unit, Wausau, WI.

She spent her early life and schooling in Marshfield. She attended Columbus Grade School and Columbus High School, Marshfield graduating with the Class of 1963.  She furthered her education by attending St. Mary’s School of Nursing in Madison, WI, where… she graduated in 1966.

She was married to William F. “Bill” Herhold on September 9, 1967. They celebrated over 47 years of marriage.  She was employed as a surgical nurse in the Chicago suburbs for many years before becoming the Nursing Manager for Northwest Surgicare, Arlington Heights.  She was instrumental in the formation and concept of outpatient surgical services.

Following her retirement in 2007 she and her husband Bill spent time traveling the world.  She enjoyed gardening, cooking, was an avid reader, a bocce ball player, golfing, and boating.  They enjoyed spending time together in their homes in Wisconsin and Florida.

She is survived by her husband William F. “Bill” Herhold, Phillips, WI, by 1 daughter Jenna Herhold, Chicago, IL, and by 1 son William A. (Dana) Herhold, Mosinee, WI.  She was preceded in death by her parents, and by 1 brother Ron Wipfli.
