A Celebration Of Life service for Caroline Marie Brouwer-Young (nee Patzwald) will be held at the Seaside United Methodist Church, 3100 Seaside Road Southwest, Sunset Beach, NC at 10:00am on Saturday, November 1, 2014.  A gathering for Caroline will be held November 1, 2014 from 4:00pm – 7:00pm at Sea Trails Pink Palace, Rice Mill Circle, Sunset, NC.She was born on August 1, 1936 in Rochester, NY and passed away on Tuesday, September 30, 2014 of Sudden Heart Failure in Carolina Shores, NC.  She lived in Lake Barrington from 1979-1989 before moving to North Carolina in 1989.  Caroline was a member of Sea Trails Golf Club, Garden Club and Sunset Beach Untied Methodist Church.  Most of her life Caroline was a homemaker and was blessed to raise three wonderful children.  She was the only child of William and Marie Patzwald (nee Glitzer) of Rochester, NY.  She was the mother of Karen (Dr. Bryan Bomberg) Brouwer-Bomberg of Steamboat Springs, CO, William (Gail Hubrecht-Brouwer) Brouwer of Jacobus, PA and Heidi (John Michel) Brouwer-Michel of Lake Zurich; proud grandmother of seven wonderful grandchildren, Erin, Maxwell and Conner Bomberg, Benjamin and Olivia Brouwer, Wyatt and Garett Michel.  Caroline was preceded in death by her first husband Richard Arthur Brouwer in 1985 and then married Roger Craig Young in 1986 until his death in 2013, she is also survived by his children Dan, Jan, the late Craig, Sara and Melissa, 19 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.  She loved the ocean, the Carolina weather and all her many friends but most of all her beloved dog Lily Ling Lou.   In lieu of flowers please make memorial contributions in her and Lily’s name, for her beloved Lily’s care, to: R.A.C.E.
