Carolyn H. Nerzig

A Celebration Of Life for Carolyn “Lynn” Nerzig, 77, will be held Saturday, May 8, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Highway, Palatine.

Lynn was born July 15, 1943 in Peoria, Illinois. She passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by family, on Thursday, March 11, 2021.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Myron “Mike” Nerzig and her parents, Margaret and Charles Bavis.

Lynn is survived by her daughters, Lisa (Leon) Delano and Deborah (John) Azpuru and his children, Kim Nerzig, Todd (Christine) Nerzig, Elizabeth Ebnit, Babette Nerzig; grandchildren, Alexandria Delano, Patrick (engaged to Kostadina) Delano, Mark Delano, Madeline (engaged to Jacob) Delano, Haley Azpuru, John Azpuru Jr., Daniel Nerzig, Kristopher Nerzig, Cody (Madison) Ebnit; great-grandson, Hudson Ebnit; sister, Fran Nauth; and nephews Zachary, Daniel, and Aaron.

Lynn enjoyed sewing, traveling, flowers, baking, hosting family gatherings and neighborhood parties, shopping with her grandchildren and attending their many activities.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your local food pantry or food bank.  Also, the next time you buy a bouquet or plant some flowers, please think of Lynn, especially if they’re yellow!
