Cecilia Y. Martinez

Visitation for Cecilia Y. Martinez, 43, of Palatine, will be held on Sunday, October 15, 2017 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home 201 North Northwest Highway, Palatine.  Visitation will continue at the Mission Hills Catholic Mortuary located at 11160 Stranwood Avenue in Mission Hills, California followed by the Funeral Mass at the Mission Hills Catholic Mortuary and Interment at the San Fernando Mission Cemetery, both in Mission Hills, California.

Cecilia was born on November 24, 1973 in Sun Valley, California, and following a nearly two year long battle with cancer, she passed away surrounded by her family at home on October 12, 2017.  First and foremost, Cecilia was a beautiful, caring, loving, fair and genuine woman, even late into her illness through all her suffering.  She devoted herself to her daughter but aspired to become a medical writer.  In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, traveling and making crafts.  She was known to have a knack for hosting and entertaining.

Cecilia is survived by her husband, Koray Tureyen; daughter, Sara Tureyen; mother and father, Oscar and Maria Martinez; and sisters, Sophia Martinez and Marisa Cerna.
