Charlotte F. Laskowski

Visitation for Charlotte F. Laskowski, 95, of Palatine, will be held on Monday, November 7, 2022, at 10:00am until the time of the Funeral Service at 11:00am at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Highway, Palatine. The Interment will follow at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Cemetery, Palatine.

Born in Chicago, IL on October 28th, to Carl and Charlotte Schroeder.  Charlotte was nicknamed “Punky” by her father when she was born because of her beautiful red hair and Halloween birthday.  She grew up in Chicago, a block away from her cousins Arline and Nancy.  She attended Bell Elementary School and then graduated Amundsen High School in 1946.  After high school, she attended Wright Junior College to study Home Economics.  Charlotte met Norbert Laskowski at a party she attended with her best friend Shirley.  They were married in 1950 at St. Benedicts in Chicago.  A few years later, they moved to Palatine, IL where Nobert built the house they would reside and raise their family in. In addition to raising her family, Charlotte was a dog lover and had several dogs throughout her life: Lady Jane, Penny, Cindy, and Tammy. Charlotte loved to spend time at her cottage in Lake Geneva, WI.  Summers were spent up there going to sidewalk sales, drive-in movies, and playing cards and dominos with her family. Charlotte was a huge fan of Lawrence Welk and her soap operas “stories”, daily activities often revolved around her tv schedule.  She was a member of the American Legion and belonged to various other clubs throughout her life.  Sundays were always spent at her house having a large dinner and gathering.  She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and will live on through all our fond memories.

Charlotte is survived by her children Gail Sawdey, James (Therese) Laskowski and Larry (Brenda) Laskowski; Grandchildren; Laura (Jason) Lundstrom, Caryn (Joseph) Cirone, Joseph Laskowski, and Susan Laskowski; Great grandchildren; Emma, Kyler, Braxton, and Nolan; Cousin; Arline Vullmahn.

She is preceded in death by her husband Norbert Laskowski and her parents Carl and Charlotte Schroeder.
