Visitation for Cherie Lynn Bott (nee McLean), 77, of Palatine since 1970, formerly of Milan, Tennessee, will be held Saturday, June 2, 2018 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., with a Prayer Service, 6:00 p.m. at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Service, 201 N. Anderson Drive, Palatine. An Interment will follow at All Saints Catholic Cemetery, Des Plaines.

Cherie was born October 22, 1940 in Milan, Tennessee, and passed away at home Thursday, May 31, 2018 surrounded by her family.

She was the beloved wife of George P. Bott; loving mother of Gary (Maritess) Bott, Karen (Roger) Dattilo and Tony (Mizuho) Bott; loving grandmother of Zachary, Nathaniel and Jocelyn Bott, Lauren and Brant Dattilo and Brandon and Ryan Bott; dear daughter of the late Frank and Rubye (nee McEwen) McLean; fond sister of Barbara (Devon) Rollins, Judy (Henry) Bernreuter, late Bill (late Fonda) McLean and the late Jim McLean.

Cherie was proud of her southern heritage and was a devout country music fan, especially of the group Alabama.  After moving to Illinois, she met George and together they raised a family. She enjoyed caring for others, making the family newsletter, and was an avid Cubs and Blackhawks fan.  Cherie and George traveled the world but they had a special place in their heart for Jamaica. She was a beloved parishioner of St. Thomas of Villanova Catholic Church and valued her many friendships.

Most of all, she will be remembered as caring, outgoing and selflessly dedicated to her family and friends.
