Cheryl Ann Jonelis

Funeral Services for Cheryl Ann Jonelis, 60, will be private.

Cheryl was born on September 11, 1956 in Waukegan, IL, to Aloysius and Lillian Obenauf.  She passed away on September 5, 2017.

She is survived by her husband of 40 years, James Jonelis; sons Jeremy (Christina), Jason (Kelly); three wonderful granddaughters, LillyAnna, Mackenzie, and Amber; mother, Lillian Obenauf; and siblings, Doreen, Michelle, Margaret, and Al.

Cheryl is preceded in death by her father, Aloysius Obenauf; sisters, Janice Emery (nee Obenauf), and  June Herchenbach (nee Obenauf).

Cheryl grew up in the Lake Zurich area and remained a resident throughout her life.  She fell in love with her high school sweetheart, Jim, whom she married in 1977 before graduating from St. Norbert College.  She became a wonderful mother of two sons and a homemaker for the family.  She will be remembered as a devoted mother, grandmother, wife, aunt, cousin, sister, and daughter who cared deeply for all of her family and friends.  Her granddaughters – whom she adored – became the love of her life.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
