Cynthia Penar

A Memorial Visitation for Cynthia Penar, 70,  formerly of Lake Zurich, will be from 10:00 AM until the time of the Memorial Service at 1:00 PM on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 415 S. Buesching Road, Lake Zurich. Inurnment will be heald privately.  

Cynthia was born on April 16, 1953 to the late Stanley and Frances Zablotowicz. She passed away on October 2, 2023.

In 1973, Cindy met Larry on the ‘L’ train.  They married the following year.  Cindy and Larry went on to have four children, Jennifer, Jillian, Samantha and Amanda. 

In 2018, Cindy retired as a Medical Office Manager and spent her time with her daughters and grandkids, running errands with her husband, reading and learning more about Jesus through various bible studies and church events. Cindy loved dogs and spent much time with her rescues Hank and McGyver.

Cynthia was beloved wife of Larry Penar for 49 years; loving mother of Jen (Jerold) Irabagon, Jillian (Eric) Dorn, Samantha (Michael) Hagen, Amanda (Mark) Rau; dear grandmother of: Jacob, Jadon, Lucas, Ethan Connor, Kenzie, Taylor, Maverick, Charlotte; and fond sister of Sue (Vern) Ahlstrand.

In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to The American Cancer Society.
