David A. Christensen

A Memorial Visitation for David A. Christensen, 69, will be held Friday, January 28, 2022, from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the Memorial Service at 6:00 p.m. at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N Northwest Hwy Palatine. The Inurnment will be held privately with the family.

David passed away Thursday, January 13, 2022, at his home in Palatine. He was born July 24, 1952, to Albert and Janet Christensen, the eldest of four children. David graduated from Wheeling High School.

David loved sports especially the Dallas Cowboys and open wheel racing. He worked as a machinist for over 40 years. Upon retirement, he spent his free time watching various sporting events, going to races, and being with his family and friends. He enjoyed reading the Daily Herald and doing puzzles. He enjoyed camping, playing horseshoes, and boating with friends. David was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. David enjoyed spending the summers in Wisconsin with his family and friends.

David is survived by his wife, Sandie; daughters, Michelle (Mike) Mahnke, Tracy (Jason) Cronin, son, Brian (Brianna) Christensen, former spouse, Deborah, his grandchildren, Nicholas (Casey) Cronin and Alyssa Christensen, brother, Steve Christensen, as well as many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins and an aunt.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Janet, and his brother, Greg Christensen, sister, Karen Christensen and his granddaughter, Kelly Cronin.

David was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. His laugh was contagious, deep, and heartwarming.
