Debra L. Austin

A Memorial Visitation for Debra L. Austin, 50, of Chicago, will be held on Saturday, February 6, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m., at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Highway, Palatine. Services may be viewed at: https://webcast.funeralvue.com/events/viewer/47155 The Interment will follow at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Palatine.

Debra is survived by her children, Sophia, Samantha and Alexa, and their dog, Quincy; her mother, Susan Austin; and siblings, Pamela (David) Disselhorst, Robert (Lorianne) Austin and seven nieces and nephews.

Debbi, the youngest of three, was a bright light in her family since she was born.  She made friends everywhere she went with her smile, heart, and charm. She was as intelligent as she was beautiful.   She worked for Harris Associates right after graduating from the University of Iowa for over 25 years.  She was a true lover of fashion, whose style was inspired by her travels.  Debbi’s truest love, however, was her children. She left Harris Associates to spend more time with Sophi, Sammi and Lexi, and volunteering at their schools whenever she could. She recently went back to work, and loved the challenge and opportunities given to her at Springtide Partners.  The hearts of her family are broken, and we will miss her light, always.

She is preceded in death by her father, Robert Austin and her aunt, Mary Wilkinson.
