Dennis Peden

A Memorial Visitation for Dennis Peden, of Palatine, IL, will be held Friday, May 19, 2017, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Memorial Service, 11:00 a.m. at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Highway, Palatine.  A Memorial Service will also be held at a later date in Florida, and announced in the future.

Dennis born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada on April 17, 1938.  He passed away in Venice, Florida on April 30, 2017, surrounded by his family after a long battle with cancer.  Dennis graduated from Lane Tech High School in Chicago, Illinois.  He proudly served in the United States Army.  Dennis and Carol were residents of Palatine for 43 years. They met at, and were later married at Bethany Lutheran Church in Chicago, Illinois,November 25,1961.

Dennis is survived by his wife of 55 years, Carol Lorraine; son Jeffrey; daughter, Laura (Steve) Slaw; grandson, Derek Slaw; granddaughter, Andrea Slaw; sister, Sonja Peden; sister-in-law, Carol (Ben) Peden; many nieces and nephews; and many, many friends.

Dennis was a member of the Experimental Aviation Association for nearly 40 years and attended the EAA “fly-in” Oshkosh, Wisconsin for many years.  He shared this enthusiasm with his brother Ben; son, Jeffrey; son-in-law, Steve; and grandson, Derek.  He loved travelling, camping, golfing.  Dennis was happiest when he was spending time with family and friends.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents Dorothy and Clarke; sister Delores (Eugene) Loster; and brother, Ben (Carol) Peden.
