Diane E. Pospeshil

A Memorial Service for Diane E. Pospeshil (nee Smith),72, of Buffalo Grove, will be held on Sunday, September 12, 2021 from 2:00 to 3:00 PM at Kingswood United Methodist Church, 401 W. Dundee Road, Buffalo Grove.

Diane was born a dancer.  Wherever she lived she was involved in the local dance community, through her own dancing or through her children.  When she moved to Buffalo Grove in 1984, she started a dance studio in her basement and taught kids from the neighborhood. In 2000 she opened, with her family, Kristina’s Studio of Dance, and for the next 20 years brought joy into the lives of countless families.

More than her love of dance was the love she had for her family. She raised, with undying love, three beautiful and successful children and adored her three grandchildren.  She had an enormous loving impact on her family and community.

Diane is survived by her husband, Martin Pospeshil; daughter, Kristina (Ferland) Bony; sons, Michael Pospeshil and Matthew Pospeshil; grandchildren, Avani, Lennon, and Lyla;  and her sisters, Beverley Barra and Linda Smith.

She is preceded in death by her father, James M. Smith; her brother, James Smith Jr.; and her mother, Alice Smith.
