Diane F. O’Connor

A Memorial Visitation will be held for Diane F. O’Connor (nee Dembowski), age 80, of Cary, formerly of Arlington Heights, Monday, February 23, 2015 from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Hwy., Palatine.  A Memorial Mass will be held Tuesday, February 24, 2015, 10:30 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 2515 Palatine Road, Inverness, IL 60067; with a visitation from 9:15 a.m. until the time of Mass.

Diane passed away peacefully on Friday, February 20, 2015, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on January 18, 1935 in Chicago.  Diane married James C. O’Connor on October 19, 1957 after their graduation from DePaul University.

Her passions were playing bridge, reading and cooking.  She especially loved bragging about and spending time with “The Grands.”

She is survived by her daughters, Karen (Michael) Detloff, Kathy (John) Guzak, Gayle Gillmann, Ellen (Scott) Drahos; grandchildren, Jim (Tara), Shaun, Matt, John Ryan, Megan, Kristen, Kelsey,  Kaity, Colleen, Maggie, Adam, Khloe; great-granddaughter, Kayden, sister-in-law, Paula O’Connor, brother-in-law, Tom Byrne; many nieces and nephews, and former son-in-law, Steve Gillmann.

Diane was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, parents and her sister Janice Walsh.
