Dolores M. Motisi

May 29, 1957 — August 16, 2024

Rolling Meadows

We are heartbroken to announce Dolores Motisi, age 67, resident of El Mirage, AZ, previously of Rolling Meadows and Chicago, IL has peacefully been called home.

A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, October 4, 2024, from 4:00 to 8:00pm at Ahlgrim’s Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Highway, Palatine, IL. A private graveside service will be held Saturday, October 5, 2024, for immediate family.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Dolores Wilder, sister and brother-in-law, Joan and James Bychowski, and precious son, Daniel, PFC. She leaves behind her grieving and dearly beloved son, Scott whom she cherished beyond anything else in her life; many adored nieces and nephews, Janet (Don) Bauer, James (Barb) Bychowski, Joyce (Michael) Hummel, Joseph (Susan) Bychowski, Jerome Bychowski, Jay Bychowski (deceased), Jeanne (James) Fox and Jon (Lisa) Bychowski; most endearing cousins, Russell and Diana Louviere (Felix Pintor); many precious great nieces and nephews, and her cherished best friends, Sue Burgess and Elaine Masciale.

Lori’s passion for math and science inspired her to professionally become a Registered Nurse to help as many people as possible. She shared that love and encouragement of the medical field with much-loved Adam (Sandy) Chavez whom successfully became an incredible Nurse Practitioner.

Lori joined the Boy Scouts of America when her son Scott joined Cub Scouts in second grade. Volunteering as a leader, she rose from Den Leader to Cubmaster in Pack 96, Rolling Meadows and as both her boys joined Troop 96, she volunteered as an Assistant Scoutmaster. She cheerfully served the larger geographic area of Scouting as a team member of many Cub Scout events and as an Assistant District Commissioner. She took the advanced training class, Wood Badge, and quietly shared her nursing knowledge by volunteering as the Medical Officer for numerous Cub Scout Day Camps as well as the National Arrow Corps service project. In honor of her unselfish service, she was elected to the Scouting Honor Society, the Order of the Arrow, eventually being elected to the highest honor, Vigil. In addition, she was awarded the District Award of Merit and the council’s highest award, the Silver Beaver. Her time in Scouting positively affected a large number of youth and adults.

She was a truly kind and extremely humble person who enjoyed painting with watercolors, designing and making jewelry, camping and taking trips to Las Vegas to do a little gambling.
