Donald O. Maxwell

The Visitation for Mr. Donald O. Maxwell, 80, a resident of Lake Zurich since 1950, will be held on what would have been Don’s 81^st birthday, Friday August 1, 2014 at St. Peter United Church of Christ, 47 Church Street, Lake Zurich from 6:00pm until 8:00pm.  Visitation will also be held on Saturday August 2, 2014 from 10:00am until the time of the Funeral Service at 11:00am also at the church.  The Interment will be private.

Don was born on August 1, 1933 in Chicago, IL the son of the late Charles J. and Maude (nee: Oakley) Maxwell and passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 30, 2014.

Don was a U.S. Army Veteran having served in the Korean War from 1953 – 1955.  Prior to the time of his retirement he was the owner of Shoe Lace shoe store in LakeZurich for many years.

Beloved husband of nearly 59 years of Elizabeth A. (nee: Smith) Maxwell; loving father of Donna (Greg) Kelly, Debbie (Kurt) Paulus and Doug (Sue) Maxwell; cherished grandfather of Mike, Kevin (Fiancée Sandy Voelkel) Kelly, Cassie (Andres) Roncancio, Matt (Fiancée Whitney Rhew), Jake, and Hannah Paulus, Ryan Frapolli, Chad and Joe Maxwell; dear uncle of Larry Jr. and Greg Zender.  Proceeded in death by his sister Dorothy Zender.
