Donald O. Reed, Sr.

Visitation for Donald Orville Reed Sr., 80, was a longtime resident of Arlington Heights, formerly of DesPlaines, will be held on Monday, April 25, 2016 from 3:00PM until 8:00PM at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Hwy., Palatine.  Funeral Services will begin with prayers on Tuesday, April 26, 2016, 9:30AM, also at the funeral home, proceeding to St. Thomas of Villanova Catholic Church, 1201 E. Anderson Drive, Palatine for the Funeral Mass at 10:00AM.  An Entombment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery Mausoleum in Arlington Heights.

Donald was born on March 4, 1936 in DesPlaines the son of the late Orville and Ethel (nee: Lewis) Reed, and passed away on Tuesday, April 19th, 2016.  Donald had retired from High School District 211 in Palatine after having served as a custodian for twenty-one years.  He also was a U.S. Army Korean War Veteran.

Beloved husband of 62 years of Irma (nee: Limon) Reed; loving father of Sandra (Jake) Jacobson, Donald O. Reed, Jr., James Michael (Barbara) Reed, Susan Mangan and the late Ana Maria Block-Reed and the late Thomas Frank Reed; dear grandfather of 22 and dear great grandfather of 12; fond brother Janet (Vernon) Blume and Kathy (Bill) Rizzo; cherished father in law of Bridget Reed.
