It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Donna Hewitt on February 7, 2025. A Celebration Of Life service will take place at a later time to be determined, at the First United Methodist Church of Palatine.

Born April 6, 1956, Donna lived a life that was characterized by love, kindness, bravery, and selflessness, touching many hearts in her 68 years. Her enduring compassion was evident in her every interaction. Her kind heart was best reflected by her ability to always put others first, showing care and generosity that truly knew no bounds. Donna was a beacon of love, her actions defined by her overwhelming kindness and selflessness.

A celebration of life service will take place at a later time to be determined at the First United Methodist Church of Palatine.

Donna’s kindness extended to many different outlets. Whether it was a friend from Facebook uplifting their life after a tragic loss or helping shelter and homeless dogs find loving homes. When it came to the dogs her favorite breeds were simply rescued. She would spend tireless hours all through the night scrolling through Facebook and other online groups making sure that her wish was for every dog (and basically anything furry) to have a home. In her life she rescued every one of her loving hounds; BG, Barney, April May, Brett, April Lily, Maverick (Her grand dog), Lucy, and Ricky.

Her loving spirit was also shared in many organizations such as P.E.O, and also Job’s Daughters encouraging girls, and young women to grow and flourish. Just another branch of love Donna extended to the people in her life. In Donna’s eyes, nobody was a stranger. They were just a friend she hadn’t met yet. Whether it was offering to cover a meal, to making sure she always made it a point to compliment someone to make them smile that was her daily mission.

Donna always emphasized the importance of family. She reminded us to cherish our loved ones, to remain connected during disagreements, and taught us the power of forgiveness. Donna displayed an unwavering strength, courageously smiling through the pain, always cherishing the blessings in her life.

Donna's greatest accomplishment was her family, who she loved with unparalleled tenacity. This is a testament to her beautiful soul as she created a home filled with love and joy, instilling the values she held dear in her loved ones. Her life has left an indelible mark of kindness and generosity, a legacy that will continue to inspire. Her beautiful smile was emblematic of her loving spirit, making anyone who knew her feel deeply valued and loved. While her presence will be sorely missed, her smile will forever be etched in our hearts, a precious reminder of Donna's beautiful spirit.

We find comfort in remembering Donna's teachings: Love God, stay close to your family and friends, forgive, smile through the pain, and always be thankful for the blessings in our life. It is these lessons that Donna leaves behind, a testament to her brave and loving soul.

May her gentle soul rest in eternal bliss and her legacy continue to touch lives. Donna Hewitt, you will be deeply missed.
