Dorothy A. Disher

A Memorial Visitation for Dorothy Anderson Disher will be held on Sunday, July 10, 2016 from 2:00PM until 7:00PM at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Hwy., Palatine.  The Memorial Service will be held at 10:00AM on Monday, July 11, 2016, also at the funeral home, with burial to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Arlington Heights.

Dorothy was born to David and Myrtle Anderson on November 20, 1939 and passed away in her home on July 3, 2016, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.  She was preceded in death by her loving husband Philip.

Dorothy graduated from and was homecoming queen at Palatine High School in 1957.  She was a dedicated employee and became a trusted friend to Dorothy Doumakes and Alan Mortenson at Bingaman Metal Spinning in Rolling Meadows for 35 years.  

Dorothy enjoyed crossword puzzles, board and card games, reading, traveling, golf, musicals and plays and spending time with friends and family.

Dorothy is survived by her daughters Kendra Pankow and Kristin Disher; grandson Philip “PJ” (Kayla) Pankow: sister Marge (Bob) Finch; cousin John (Renee) Bruce and family; sister in law Joan (late Ed) Zerr; niece Sue Disher Swanson; nephews Rob (Fran) Finch, Chris (Dawn) Disher and Tim (Cindy) Disher; great nieces Jen, Heather, Heidi, Kelly Jean and Alcie; great nephews Brad (Carrie),Wes, Zac, Jeremy, Brian, Mike and Seamus; youngest of all, a great great nephew Timmy. She was fondly known to all as Aunt Dottie.  She will be remembered as a dear friend to many and will be missed by all whose lives she touched.
