Dorothy D. Keenan

Visitation for Dorothy D. Keenan (nee Darnell), 91, of Lake Zurich, will be held from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Thursday, May 26, 2016 at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 415 S. Buesching Road, Lake Zurich.  The Funeral Mass will said, 10:30 am on Friday, May 27, 2016 at St. Francis de Sales Church, 33 S. Buesching Road, Lake Zurich.  The Interment will be in Windridge Memorial Park.

She was born on July 7, 1924 in Lacasa, OK and passed away on Friday, May 20, 2016 in Lake Zurich.

Dorothy graduated from Dodsonville High School in Texas in 1941 and received a Secretarial Certificate from Draughons Business School at in Witchita Falls, Texas.

In 1942 she met Harry Keenan, stationed at Sheppard Field, an Army Air Corps training facility in Witchita Falls, Texas and was later married on January 16, 1943.

Dorothy is survived by her children Patricia Lynn (Stephen M.) Deemer, John William Keenan and Ellen Keenan; grandchildren Sean Patrick Johnston, Christopher John Deemer, Alex Keenan Fitzpatrick, Emily Shea Fitzpatrick, Madeleine Ellen Cegleci and Tyler Hovath Keenan; great grandmother of Lucea Rose Johnston, Maizy Lyn Johnston, Braelynn Arya Fitzpatrick and Harley Rose Fitzpatrick; sister of Wayne (Mayrene) Darnell and Raymond (Virgie) Darnell.
She was preceded in death by her husband Harry; parents John Ernest and Elbertie Darnell (nee Russell); brother John Ernest (Clara) Darnell Jr. and Edward Darrell (Ella) Darnell.
