Dorothy E. McNamara

Celebration of Life gathering for Dorothy McNamara, 98, of Palatine, will be held at St. Thomas of Villanova Church, 1201 E. Anderson Drive, Palatine, on Monday, November 4, 2024, at 9:00 AM with Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM. The Interment will be private at a later date.

Dorothy McNamara (née Taliano), passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 26, 2024, in the loving presence of her children and grandchildren.

Dorothy was born January 24, 1926, in Spring Valley, IL, the daughter of the late Lawrence and Mary Taliano.

Dorothy was a devoted wife of over 50 years to the late Robert McNamara and was a dedicated homemaker and loving mother of six children; Debra Miel (Russ Long), Kevin McNamara (Audrey), Joan Deichstetter, Barbara McNamara, Brian McNamara and Nancy Levers (Mohammed Lahouidak) to whom she had imparted great wisdom and love. She also took great joy in spoiling her many grandchildren: Meghan (Kyle), Emily (Christopher), Steven, Caitlin, Meara, Nicholas, Lucas, Zachary, Jacob, Jackson; and her great grandchild, Henry, all of whom she loved dearly.

Dorothy is also survived by her sisters, Anna Marie Rochetto (late Dominic), and Dolores Dee (late William), her loving children, beloved grandchildren, great grandchild, nieces and nephews.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Robert McNamara; her infant brother, Raymond; and her parents, Lawrence and Mary Taliano.
