Dr. Dennis L. Bond, 80, of Inverness, passed away peacefully at his home on March 5, 2023.

Dennis was born to Stewart and Mary Bond (nee Aniballi) on February 13, 1943, in Elgin, IL. Dennis was a son, brother, father and the loving husband of the late Krystine Anne “Krys” Bond (nee Holper). Catherine Bond (Jim Holcomb), Dennis Bond Jr. (Courtney Bond) and Julia Bond (Bill Schick) are all children of Dennis and Mary Ellen DiMatteo.

Dennis attended St. Edwards Catholic High School (class of 1961) in Elgin where he was a respected student and athlete. He attended Loyola University in Chicago for both his undergraduate studies and D.D.S. Degree and then went on to complete his orthodontic residency at Northwestern University. He looked up to his father, Dr. Stewart Bond, and followed in his footsteps in a lifelong career as an Orthodontist with practices in Schaumburg and Elgin. His nephew, Dr. Ryan Hurley, later joined his practice and eventually took over the orthodontic practice when Dennis retired in 2011. He had a successful career as a kind, generous and extremely skilled Orthodontist. He derived great satisfaction in bringing a smile to his many patients and supported many organizations in his community. He enjoyed spending time with his family at the Bond family lake house on Apple Canyon Lake, IL and vacations with family members at Dennis and Krys’ second home on Hilton Head Island, SC. He also spent many summers sailing on Lake Michigan with his brother Stewart “Bud” Bond. Dennis and Krys were always happy to meet friends and family for dinner or spend time with his children. He enjoyed attending many of his grandchildren’s activities with whom he shared his interest in automobiles. Dennis and Krys were both animal lovers and had several pets over the years- Bogie, Max and Jackson.

Dennis is survived by his three children and four grandchildren, William Flynn, Henry Bond, Dennis Bond III and Dylan Schick and three siblings, Stewart Bond Jr. (Vickie), David Bond (Linda), Mary Lynne Hurley (Kevin) and many nieces, nephews and in-laws in the Bond and Holper families.

He is predeceased by his beloved wife of 40 years Krystine “Krys” Bond, parents Stewart and Mary Bond, sister-in-law Sally Bond (nee Heidemann) and nephews Donald Hansen III and Kyle Hansen.
