Duane E. Blackwell

Visitation for Duane “Rev” Emerson Blackwell, 61, of Lake Zurich, will be from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 415 S. Buesching Road, Lake Zurich.  Prayers will be said at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 13, 2018, also at the funeral home and proceed to St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 33 S. Buesching Road, Lake Zurich, for a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m.  The Interment will be held at a later date in Sparland Cemetery, Sparland, IL.

Rev was born on March 13, 1957 in Peoria, IL, the youngest child to the late Donald and Alice Blackwell.  He passed away at home on Sunday, June 10, 2018.

Rev was raised in Chillicothe, IL having graduated from Chillicothe High School.  He obtained a degree in Communications from Illinois State University.

He was a longtime member of St Francis de Sales Church, where he sang in the choir and was a member of the Ministry of Care.

Rev is the loving husband of Karen Blackwell; dear father of Britt (Jennifer) Blackwell & Eric (Laura) Blackwell; brother of Don (Nancy) Blackwell of Morton, IL, Debby (Barry) Lane of Greenfield, IA, and the late Billy Blackwell; and uncle to many nieces and nephews.  He is also survived by his beloved dog, Jax.
