Quentin Rd., Palatine.  An Inurnment will be scheduled for a later date and will be a private event for the family at Lakeview Cemetery in Oxford, WI.

Ed passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights.  He was born July 15, 1940 in Evanston, IL, the son of the late Jane I. (Damon) and Charles DeFranco.

Ed was the founder and owner of DeFranco Plumbing Inc. and proudly led the company for more than 35 years before passing it on to his sons.  He was a member of  Chicago Journeymen Plumbers Local 130 UA, ASPE (American Society of Plumbing Engineers), and PCA (Plumbing Contractors Association).  He was the former plumbing inspector for the Village of Inverness and a long standing member of All Saints Lutheran Church in Palatine, a former member of the Army reserve, and proud member of the North Shore Corvette Club where he shared the love of his award winning ’59 Corvette with others.  He was a patriotic man with immense compassion, undying loyalty, a generous spirit, and unconditional love.  We were all very lucky to call him brother, husband, dad, uncle, father-in-law, grandpa, or friend.  He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Joyce M. (Shriver); two sons and daughter in law Todd DeFranco; Troy and (Jennifer) DeFranco; four grandchildren, Madisyn, Allison, Devin and Tyler DeFranco; Three brothers and their spouses, Ron (Debbie) of Palatine, Tony (Linda) of Darien, and Dean of Arlington Heights; Sister-in-law  and her spouse, Joan (William) VanLue of Peoria; nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and extended family members and many close friends whom he considered family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Gottlieb Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, or the Little City Foundation, and can be mailed c/o Jennifer DeFranco, 1190 W. Kraml Ct., Palatine, IL 60067. Checks should be written directly to the designated organization you chose.
