Visitation for Edward J. Prislinger, 88, a longtime resident of Palatine, will be on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 from 3:00p.m. to 9:00p.m. at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Hwy, Palatine. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at 10:00a.m. at the funeral home. An Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Skokie.
Edward was born March 31, 1926 to John and Katherine Prislinger. He passed away on Saturday, January 10, 2015 in Des Plaines.
He is survived by his beloved children, Terry Prislinger, Scott Prislinger, and Cathlynn (Thomas) Peters; dear grandchildren, Jason, Sean, Kristin, Ashley, Brandon and Trevor; fond great-grandchildren, Jessica, Hunter, and Autumn. Loving Companion of Sue Limbers and her family.
Edward is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Prislinger and daughter in law, Michele Prislinger.
Edward was a veteran of the United States Army having served in World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was a founding member of the Palatine Jaycees. Edward served on the Wilmot Ski Patrol for 35 years and was also an instructor of CPR and First Aid for the American Red Cross, District 211 and Elgin Community College. Edward was proud of his German Heritage and his ballroom dancing.
