Services for Edward James Czyz “Eddy the Painter/ Fast Eddy” will be private.
Eddy was born into life on October 6, 1950. On December 6, 2017 Eddy was born into eternity and peacefully called home where he is no longer a prisoner in his own mind and body. Although we will miss him dearly, he is no longer suffering or confused and is finally free again.
Beloved son of Joseph and Dorothy; brother of Raymond; father of his beloved girls, Tina and Laura; father-in-law to his favorite (and only) son-in-law, Julio, who he was so fond of and proud to call his son; Grandpa to Anissa, Jc, Jordan, Jennah, Joey and Rylee; great-grandfather to Angelina; and very special life- long friend to his buddy, “John the Plummer” who he cherished, was so grateful for, and valued their friendship like no other.
Eddy was a long time resident of Palatine for over 25 years. He was a railroad union worker in his early years until about the 80’s when he started “Fast Eddy’s Painting” and continued doing what he loved, a painter by blood and trade. A true Pollock at heart with a pack of smokes and ice cold beer was the best was to describe Eddy. A true Chicagoan, he loved his Old Style, Cubbies, and Chicago Bears like a true fan never lost hope in them and actually had the chance to see his Cubbies win the World Series, GO CUBS!!
He will be missed by many, especially the women. He was such a smooth talker and quite the ladies’ man to say the least. In his final weeks, he was still trying to pick up the ladies in true Eddy fashion.
He’ll precede his father Joseph in heaven where they can pick up arguing over the hedges and lawn lines not being perfect because that’s what they did best. Eddy had away about him; to know him was to love him in your own way. Truly a character and such a storyteller, once he began his stories you could literally lose track of time.
That is a memory I personally will forever cherish and miss. Daddy, we will miss you until we meet again, may you rest in paradise and watch over us and your grand-babies.
