Elizabeth Q. Miller

A Memorial Visitation for Elizabeth Q. “Bette” Miller, 96, of Palatine, will be held on Sunday, January 13, 2019 from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Highway, Palatine. The Interment will be private.

Bette graduated from Lakeview High School in 1939. She worked at Illinois Bell Telephone in Chicago, where she met her future husband, Marsh. After they married, they lived in Chicago until they bought their home in Palatine in 1953 where they raised their family. She lived in her home for 61 years before moving to the Lutheran Home in 2014.

She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Palatine for over 60 years. Bette also worked for many years at the Barrington Public Library. She was always ready to help countless people in the Palatine community who needed assistance.

She always displayed unconditional love for her family. She often attended Palatine and Fremd High School track and cross country meets cheering on both sons and then both granddaughters, rain or shine. Bette remained loving and complimentary until the final moments of her life.

Elizabeth is survived by her son Fred and daughter-in-law Karen Brookwell-Miller; Granddaughters Emma (Drew) Miller and Roxanne Miller; stepchildren Judy Preusser and John Wyvell. Elizabeth is preceded in death by her husband Marsh and her son James.
