Funeral Services for Emma Domolky, Emmy/Omi to her loved ones, will be held on June 3, 2022 at 10:00 am at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 1190 N. Hicks Road, Palatine. The Interment will follow at Union Cemetery, Palatine.
Emmy passed away Tuesday, May 17th,2022 at the age of 82, with her daughter by her side.
Emmy was born in Germany on May 27, 1939, the 6th of 8 siblings. After emigrating to the United States in 1956 Emmy made a life for herself in Montana, then Chicago, Illinois where she met her late husband, Paul Domolky. She was a resident and member of the Palatine community for 23 years and enjoyed supporting local businesses and services in her neighborhood.
Emmy was a caring and loving sister to surviving siblings Gertrude Gies and Margaret Gergen; beloved mother of Doris and son-in-law Tim Sypult; grandmother (Omi) of Kimberly Sypult and Kendall (Ian) Reineking; great grandmother of Frank and Fiona McDermott, and a wonderful cat mom to her beloved cat, Mousey.
Emmy was an active member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. Her faith was exemplified through her charity work crocheting prayer shawls for veterans and her active participation in Bible Club with her dear friends. She found joy in her church life and community over the last 20 years.
Emmy enjoyed gardening and tending to her many houseplants and kept a beautiful garden inside and outside her home. She loved shopping and dressing up in her favorite fashions. She also loved cooking, crocheting, and entertaining with her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her brothers, Otto Ruppel, Robert Ruppel, Henry Ruppel, William Ruppel and her sister Adele Albrecht.
In lieu of flowers, donations will be appreciated to Prince of Peace Lutheran Church.
