Ernest J. Hagenow, Sr.

Visitation for Ernest John Hagenow, Sr., 78, a lifelong resident of Palatine and Rolling Meadows, will be held at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Hwy., Palatine from 3:00PM until 8:00PM on Thursday, January 7, 2016.  Visitation will also be held on Friday, January 8, 2016 from 9:00AM until the time of the Funeral Service, 10:00AM at the Orchard Evangelical Free Church, 1330 N. Douglas Avenue, Arlington Heights, IL.  The Interment will follow at Union Cemetery in Palatine.

Ernest was born in Palatine on May 28, 1937 the son of the late Ernst and Meta (nee Meyer) Hagenow and passed away on Sunday, January 3, 2016 at Hearthstone Manor in Woodstock, IL.

A U.S. Army Veteran, Mr. Hagenow also belonged to the Chicago District Council of Carpenters, Local 1539 since 1968.

Beloved husband of 52 years of Margaret J. (nee Edwards) Hagenow; loving father of Ernest (Rebecca) Hagenow, Jr., Douglas (Shelley) Hagenow and Margaret J. (Bradley) Michalak; cherished grandfather of Jonathan, Thomas, Kayla, Michael, Christopher (Destiny), Rachael, Anna and Katelyn Hagenow; fond brother of Vernette Gaare and Clarence (Jayne) Hagenow and the late Elverna Stroud and the late John Hagenow; brother in law of Joanne Hagenow; also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
