Eugene R. Eckert

Visitation for Eugene R. “Gene” Eckert, 75, of Hawthorn Woods, will be held Friday, January 23, 2015,  from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 415 S. Buesching Road, Lake Zurich, IL 60047.

Prayers will be said, Saturday, January 24, 2015, 10:30 a.m. at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, Lake Zurich, and then proceeding to St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 33 S. Buesching Road, Lake Zurich, 60047, for an 11:00 a.m. Funeral Mass.  Father David Ryan will officiate.  Entombment will be in Queen of Heaven Cemetery at the Christ the King Mausoleum, Hillside, IL.

Gene was born February 25, 1939 in Oak Park, IL, and he passed away Friday, January 16, 2015 in Lake Zurich.

He retired from a life of human resources and was a United States Air Force Veteran.

Gene was the beloved husband of Elizabeth Eckert (nee Schillace) for over 54 years; loving father of Christian Eckert; brother of Elizabeth (Mike) Kroner, Judy (late Art) Curinga, Daniel (Christy) Eckert, Raymond (Ellie) Eckert and the late Peggy Riddle; brother-in-law of Josephine Martin, Maryann (Edward) McGowan and the late Lucille (late Steve) Pecoraro; and uncle to many nieces and nephews.
