Evelyn Ernst

A Memorial Visitation for Evelyn Ernst (nee LaValle), 90, of Palatine, will be held Saturday, January 30, 2016, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Memorial Service, 10:30 a.m. at the St. Joseph Home for the Elderly, 80 W. Northwest Highway, Palatine.

Beloved wife of Adam J. Ernst; loving mother of Edward  (Tirza) Ernst and Anthony J. (Diane Johnson) Ernst; loving grandmother of, Amy Ernst, Hannah Ernst, Leah Ernst and Elana (David) Silverstein; great grandmother of Maya Silverstein; dear daughter of the late Louis and Carmella (nee Marino) LaValle; dear sister of the late Mary Granata and Frank LaValle; fond aunt of Lucille “Babe” (John) Salerno.

Evelyn was born September 8, 1925 in Chicago; she passed away January 22, 2016 in Arlington Heights.  After the untimely passing of her mother and father she was raised by her sister Mary and her brother Frank.  As a young woman she worked for Western Electric, worked retail sales and loved working on floral arrangements at Philips Florist.  She and Adam raised their two sons in La Grange Park, Illinois.  Evelyn was spirited, fashionable and a great lover of animals.  She was a wonderful cook and baker and was proud of her Italian heritage.  She loved music and art and always enjoyed a challenging puzzle.  She is very much loved by her family and friends.
