Evelyn W. Buenzow

Visitation for Evelyn W. “Evie” (nee: Wente) Buenzow, 91, a lifelong resident of Palatine, will be held on Monday, July 27, 2015 from 9:00AM until the time of the Funeral Service, 11:00AM at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Hwy. Palatine.  An Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Arlington Heights.

Evelyn was born on January 23, 1924 in Chicago, IL the daughter of the late Frank F. and Helen (nee Gellrich) Wente and passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2015.

Evie and her late husband Charlie were the owners of the Palatine Sanitary Market and Grocery.  She was active in the Palatine community.  A member of the Palatine Junior Women’s Club and a faithful and devoted member of St. Paul United Church of Christ where she had been in the women’s circle, the choir and served in many other areas throughout the years.

Beloved wife of the late Charles “Charlie” Buenzow; loving mother of Bruce (Ruth) and Greg (Diane) Buenzow and the late Cheryl Buenzow; cherished grandmother of Lisa (Micah) Taylor, Keith (Eva) Buenzow, Dana Quartana, Anthony (Jennifer) Quartana, Brett (Harmony Leonard) Buenzow,  Trevor Buenzow and Jamie (Wyatt) Magee; great grandmother of Ethan, Emily, Emmit, Scarlet, Nicholas, Giovanni, Emma, Tony, Nolan, Jonna, Konner, Isabella and Gracie; also survived by nieces, nephews and many other loving family and friends; preceded in death by her brother Roy Wente.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in memory of Evie, would be appreciated for St. Paul United Church of Christ, 144 E. Palatine Road, Palatine, IL 60067.
