Visitation for Frances K. Krause – Peterson, will be held Saturday, January 18, 2014 at St. Philip’s Episcopal Church, 342 E. Wood Street, Palatine, IL60067, from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the Funeral Service at 1:00 p.m., with the Reverend Laura Gottardi-Littell officiating.  The Interment will follow at Vernon Cemetery.

Frances passed away quietly on January 10, 2014.  She was born in Chicago on April 17, 1907 to the parents of Ellen and Walter Weismantel.  She lived on the near North side almost all her life until moving to The Park in Vernon Hills.  She was a great supporter of the City of Chicago and relished talking about its history.  Frances enjoyed traveling and in 1929 spent her honeymoon driving to California with her husband William Peterson, Sr., quite an adventure for the era.  Frances attended WallerHigh School in Chicago and was a retired employee of the Bank of America.  Frances was the loving mother of William (Pat Giuffre) Peterson; grandmother of Carolyn (Ken) Robertson, Brian Scherer, Douglas (Marilyn Birge) Scherer, Mark Peterson, Lori (Scott) Haevers and Brad Peterson; great-grandmother of Jennifer, Kimberly, Allison, Julie, Kyle, Samantha, Cameron, Taylor, and Myra; and great-great-grandmother of Patrick.  She was preceded in death by her daughter, Vera Jane; granddaughter, Wendy Anne; husbands, William Peterson, Sr. and Gilbert Krause; sisters, Vera and Roselle; and brothers, Gerald and William.  Memorials may be made to St. Philip’s Episcopal Church Memorial Fund, or to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 150 N. Michigan Avenue, Suite 1550, Chicago, IL 60601.
