Frances Medin

Funeral Services and Interment for Frances Medin, 88, of Palatine, Illinois, will be held privately with the family.

Frances passed away on October 2, 2021 at Northwest Community hospital from complications of “old age”.  She was born on March 30, 1933 in Mankato, MN.

Frances grew up in the small town of Rapidan, MN.  She graduated from Rapidan High School as valedictorian and moved to Minneapolis to go to secretarial school.  Her first job was a secretary with Marsh and McLennan Insurance.  She sang in the Minneapolis Symphonic Choir. She met her husband Lowell Medin on a blind date at a circus.  She thought he looked like Elvis. They married on Sept 13, 1958 and were married 49 years before Lowell’s passing in 2008. They lived most of their married lives in Palatine, Illinois where they raised their two children, Kimberly and James.  They both loved to travel and go to estate sales.

She is survived by her daughter, Kimberly (Wayne) Francke; son, James Medin; granddaughters, Michelle Francke, Brooke and Melissa Medin.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lowell Medin and daughter- in- law, Andrea Medin.
